Our philosophy

Luxury is not excess. It is authenticity.

Think of the moment you step into a quiet cabin after a day out in the freezing cold. The wood gives warmth, the light is soft, and nothing in the room tries too hard. Everything is just as it should be.

That feeling is where Nordic Luxury Homes began.

Material

Everything begins in the forest

In the northern forest stand pines that have grown slowly for hundreds of years and died where they stand. Over the decades, wind, frost and sun have dried them into kelo wood. The wood is silver-gray and hard, and its grain shows every winter it has lived through.

Kelo wood cannot be grown or imitated. It is found only in nature, and every trunk is different.

When kelo wood comes into our hands, we do not try to change it. We want to bring out what the forest has already done: the living surface, the deep grain and a character that is never the same in two pieces.

Craft

From wood to an object with a story

We make our products in Nummela together with our Finnish manufacturing partners. Every stage is done in Finland and by hand: from choosing and working the wood to the finishing.

We combine traditional craftsmanship with modern Nordic design. The result is lights and tables that look like the design of today, yet carry with them a story hundreds of years long.

That is why every product we make is one of a kind. Not only because it is made by hand, but because it holds a piece of forest that exists nowhere else.

Behind the company

Two makers, one dream

Hugo and Niko share a love of architecture, modern design and Finnish nature. For a long time, both had looked at interiors that were beautiful but somehow felt empty. Something authentic was missing.

In the end, the answer was close at hand: kelo wood, its surface shaped by time, not by a machine. The first light was made in Nummela as an experiment, mostly for their own use. By the time it was finished, the design of the next one had already begun.

That was the start of Nordic Luxury Homes. We wanted to bring to homes, hotels and restaurants the same feeling as that quiet cabin on a freezing day: warmth, calm and the presence of nature.

Niko looks after sales and customers, Hugo after production and making sure every piece is finished as it should be. Together we are building a brand where creativity, courage and craft meet.
